Amina, along with girls from other programs supported by the Malala Fund, including NairoBits in Kenya and the Kayany Foundation in Lebanon, are taking part in Malala’s birthday action—#BooksNotBullets—by sharing photos of themselves with their favourite books.
Amina remarked, "A book is a weapon against illiteracy and poverty. Girls' education liberates a nation and makes the world a better place. It’s inspiring to know that my biology textbook equips me with knowledge of adolescent issues, among many other things, because what I learn helps me become a better mentor to my fellow girls. I strongly support #BooksNotBullets and so do other girls in Nigeria. World leaders need to choose books, not bullets."
